Flint Rockwell: Early Reading Adventure Game

Flint Rockwell: Early Reading Adventure Game. I served as creative director for this project, an interactive narrative experience for grades 3-4 designed to reinforce literary genre concepts through story-driven exploration and gameplay. Students accompany Flint Rockwell, “Genre Explorer,” through multilayered narrative levels, encountering well-known characters from different genres, and learning about common genre characteristics. By interacting with (and being tricked by!) the Baba Yaga, for example, students become familiar with the common genre characteristics of folktales. Each level built up to and culminated in a final challenge, in which students put their knowledge to the test, using their skills to “fix” the narrative conflict encountered in each level. Content received positive feedback from students and educators during controlled testing and after public release - and if I may say so, ended up looking great!
